Dimapur, Jan. 21 (EMN): The Joint Legislators’ Forum (JLF) on Naga political issue on Monday resolved to have consultations with all the Naga groups engaged in the Indo-Naga dialogue and meet central leaders “either with all the 60 members/PWC members or by the leader of the House, deputy chief minister and the leader of opposition with representatives of all the political parties and MPs.”
It also appealed to the negotiating parties, especially the government of India, to expedite the ongoing talks. “The House appreciates the government of India for its commitment to the ongoing negotiations and for its accommodative and inclusive approach and widespread consultations with all sections. The House appreciates and welcomes the participation of the different Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) who have come forward and joined the negotiations with the government of India with the sincere efforts to resolve the Indo-Naga political conflict.
“The House appealed to all Naga National Political Groups to come forward and join the negotiations and participate in the peace talks so that the final solution is all inclusive.,” read a press statement from the forum.
It acknowledged the contributions and sacrifices of the national workers and their families, the role of civil societies, tribe organisations, the church, NGOs and all other sections; and reiterated the ‘democratic desire of the Naga people to live together under one administrative umbrella.’
The forum also upheld the resolutions adopted by the Parliamentary Working Committee of the JLF in its meeting held on Nov. 19, 2018.
