Dimapur, March 3 (EMN): The NSCN (IM) on Wednesday stated that the Indo-Naga political talk negotiating teams are back on the table and the talk is progressing.

The press statement issued by the MIP, NSCN/GPRN informed that “the historic Framework Agreement (FA) signed on the 3rd August, 2015 is being brought back to live in order to remove any misinterpretation and thereby hasten the signing of Naga solution agreement”.

Terming Nagaland Governor RN Ravi’s statement in the recent state Assembly that the Naga peace talks had concluded as “reckless” and “misleading”, the NSCN (IM) said it “reflected his role as Nagaland Governor and not as Interlocutor”.

“It is a matter of regret that his role as interlocutor is nothing less than disparaging and dismal,” it stated, adding that he should be should be cautious of every single word he uttered on the Naga political issue, lest his credibility will be affected.

The group said the Union Government’s statement in the parliamentary session that the Indo-Naga political talk is in an ‘advanced stage’ is the reality and that its negotiating team “is leaving no stone unturned to safeguard the political identity of the Naga people”.

“Significantly, it is to be noted that the Indo-Naga political talk is being handled by both the parties to take the Naga people and the GoI to the point that is honourable and acceptable. This is the official understanding and the only way to conclude the talk. NSCN, therefore, under no circumstances will fail the Naga people and will never sign any agreement that is short of the mutual standard as agreed upon,” read the statement.
