Dimapur, Aug. 2 (EMN): 'Indigenous Naga', a Dimapur based organization, today suggested to the state government for formulating 'Inner Line Permit regulation in Nagaland'.
In a letter to the Home Commissioner, Nagaland, the Indigenous Naga Convenor, Keneiletuo Zumvu suggested the extension of ILP regulation to the entire Dimapur district and to appoint a Nodal Officer under the home department to monitor the ILP regulation and implementation.
it also suggested the constitution of special ILP cells at the airport, train station, ISBT and all the Nagaland Houses. It also suggested the establishment of more ILP check gates at border areas and to install CCTV in all the ILP cells and check gates for proper monitoring.
It also suggested the introduction of barcode in the ILP card and barcode reader in all the police station and check post and empower every village council for authentication and verification. Moreover, it suggested the hiking of the existing ILP fee to support and assist the set said of regulation effectively.
In this connection, the release stated that the Indigenous Naga express hope that the government and the home department will 'act without any further delay as directed by the cabinet in submitting the proposals on the issue of ILP'.
"We understand that the State Government can prescribe, and from time to time, to alter by notification in the official gazette, a line to be called "the Inner Line' in each or any of the dsitrict," the release added.
