Diphu, June 26 (EMN): Elections to the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) for state, district, and Diphu Assembly Youth Congress Committee was held at Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee (KADCC) conference hall on Monday.
According to the notice from IYC, elections in state, district, and assembly levels were being conducted and complying with the order in Karbi Anglong, the district and assembly levels of IYC elections were conducted.
In the Youth Congress election, it was conducted for the posts of president and secretaries of state and district level, while in assembly level the election was held for the post of president.
Whoever candidate gets the highest votes will become the president, while the second highest votes has been secured for vice president post and third will secure the general secretary position in the assembly level.
Every IYC members will get five votes to cast during the election. Wherein two votes will be casted for president and general secretary post of state Youth Congress; two votes for president and general secretary post of district Youth Congress; and one vote for the post of president of assembly level.
There were two candidates- Rukasen Engleng and Sukursing Kro competing for the presidential post of the Karbi Anglong Youth Congress, while Harmon Sing Engti for the general secretary post. At the Diphu Assembly Youth Congress, two candidates Mohonsing Teron and Dilip Teron contesting for the president post. Out of 264 Youth Congress members of Diphu Assembly, 226 votes were casted.
The election will be assisted by the District Returning Officer Sumit Singh Kumar, Assistant Returning Officer Upendra Kumar along with three Polling Officers Rajesh Kr Yadav, Surendra Prasad, and Om Prakash. The DRO, ARO and POs were appointed by the party. Samen Theng Kipgen of IYC was the election observer.
The voting has been scheduled from 8:00 to 3:00 pm. While votes counting of votes will be done on June 26. Counting of votes will be done simultaneously for state, district, and assembly Youth Congress.
For Howraghat Assembly Youth Congress votes for both the state and the district Youth Congress were casted which was held on June 24. There were three candidates- Jirhon Hanse, Mensing Ronghang, and Samson Engti contesting for president post. Out of 127 members, 113 took part in the voting.
While for Bokajan Assembly Youth Congress, the election was held on June 23. Candidates contesting for the post of president were Ashadul Ali, Jirsong Engti, and Junmili Teronpi. Out of 179 members 149 votes were casted.
