DIMAPUR — The Shamator branch of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) was launched at Shamator on May 20, with General Secretary of IRCS Nagaland V Khamo attending as the special guest.
The special guest delivered the keynote address, highlighting the humanitarian role and initiatives undertaken by IRCS Nagaland, and encouraged the gathering to actively participate in the service of humanity through the Red Cross movement.
A speech on the importance of blood donation was delivered by Kholi Dolf, while the President of the IRCS Shamator Branch and DC Shamator Chubatemjen also addressed the gathering on the significance of establishing the branch in the district, stated an update.
Participants of the programme included volunteers from schools and colleges, apex tribal organisations of the district, village councils of Shamator, and newly selected members under the Shamator branch.
