DIMAPUR — The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Kiphire district branch observed World Red Cross Day at the DPDB Hall in Kiphire on May 8.
According to a DIPR report, the programme was attended by Longdiba L Sangtam, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire, as the special guest.
Acknowledging the initiatives undertaken by the volunteers in the district, he encouraged the local residents to join the movement and revamp the society for the cause of humanity.
Resource person Sentiwapang, SDPO of Kiphire, delivered a short speech on road safety and traffic rules, while Tsointhe Sangtam, Honorary Secretary of IRCS Kiphire, spoke on the significance of the day.
The attendees included members of the Kiphire Town Taxi Drivers Union, J/YRC GHS Yangphi, and administrative officers.
