Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in Kohima hosts the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics 2026.
DIMAPUR — The Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) 2026 examination was conducted at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima, on Sunday, with 29 students from three schools appearing for the examination.
The examination was organised by the Examination Committee of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima, in collaboration with the IOQM under the Mathematical Olympiad Programme leading to the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), according to an update.
Students from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Ministers' Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School, Kohima, and Kendriya Vidyalaya participated in the examination.
Of the 29 candidates, 22 students were from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
The IOQM is the first stage of the Indian Mathematical Olympiad Programme, providing students an opportunity to progress through successive stages and compete for selection to represent India at the International Mathematical Olympiad.

The examination was conducted under prescribed examination protocols, with arrangements made for seating, invigilation, examination materials, attendance, and security. An authorised IOQM representative was present at the centre to monitor the conduct of the examination and oversee the examination materials.
Sharing her experience, Kekhriezhanuo Rutsa of Ministers' Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School, Kohima, who appeared for the examination for the first time, said that the experience was valuable in strengthening her mathematical foundation.
Avina Zhimo of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima, described the examination as challenging and intellectually stimulating.
