
Dimapur, Dec. 15 (EMN): The 2021-2022 season of the FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) is all set to begin after much delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic from Dec. 17 to the 19th.
The event has been reduced to three rounds from the usual eight rounds of the championship, a DIPR report informed.
Round 1 will be held at Visakhapatnam in December, round 2 at Bengaluru in January, round 3 at Coimbatore in February and round 4 at MMSC in March.
Lanusanen Pongener, who won a round in the champions’ yacht club, MRF INRC and became the first Naga to earn the honour in the highly competitive 33 year history of the national championship, will also be participating. He won the INRC 4 class in the first round.
The Nagaland Adventure Club (NAC) congratulated him for the laurels he brought to the state and wished him the best for the championship.
NAC also wished the best to Phoebe Dale Nongrum, who will be the first lady driver to represent the Northeast for the 2021 INRC through the courtesy of Vamcy Merla, it said.
Nongrum is Northeast’s first female racer, and is regarded as the pioneer of women’s motorsports in Meghalaya, it added.
