India - Myanmar - Thailand F'ship Car Rally reaches Bangkok

Dimapur, May 30: The India- Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Car Rally reached Bangkok after covering more than 4000 kms through rugged terrain of Myanmar and picturesque Thailand through ASEAN Highway No 1 and 2. Mayor of Phitsalanuk city in Thailand, Boonsong Tantanee, flagged off the rally at Topland Hotel. The rally covered more than 400 kms from Phitsalanuk today. Thailand Government has given topmost priority to the rally as they want to open ASEAN Highway 1 and 2 through India that would be beneficial for Thailand and other South ASEAN countries as well.A press release from the organizers has mentioned that tomorrow and the day after, Thai government representatives and top entrepreneurs of Thailand will interact with the rallyist including the top businessmen and other entrepreneurs from NE India to explore future business opportunities. The rally was escorted by the Tourist police of Thailand. 31 participants including one female driver, in 10 cars –5 cars from Assam, 2 cars from Arunachal 1 car each from Nagaland and Manipur – are participating in the rally. The rally was originally flagged off by Kalikho Pul, CM of Arunachal on 22 May from Itanagar.
