KOHIMA — Ahelie Theyo, an independent candidate running for the second time in the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) elections, stated on Monday that, if given a chance, he would bring an upgraded sanitation system and implement effective traffic and parking solutions in ward 12.
The Upper Chandmari Colony (ward 12) is an unreserved ward with three candidates, including one female, contesting to be elected.
His agenda includes easy access to healthcare facilities, provisions for senior citizens, street lights for all alleyways with proper security measures, setting up drinking water supply infrastructure where possible, a community schooling concept, and a door-to-door feedback mechanism.
Additionally, it was announced that a Ward Development Committee, representing elders, women, and youths from the ward, will be formed to implement the aforementioned plans.
Kapu Tep, an independent candidate from ward 17, also addressed the gathering.
