Yimchungrü Tribal Council and Yimchungrü Akherü Arih-Ako have announced to impose indefinite bandh from 6 am of January 5 in Yimchungrü jurisdiction in protest against the State Government’s non-fulfillment of their demands made with the 24-hour ultimatum jointly served by Yimchungrü Tribal Council and Yimchungrü Akherü Arih-Ako to the Chief Minister to revoke government order ‘disallowing’ holding of YAA Golden Jubilee at Shamator HQ, YTC & YAA. In a press release the two organizations said they are compelled to call for total bandh in the entire Yimchungrü jurisdiction including NH 202 with effect from 6 am of January 5. In the event of any eventualities, the state government shall be held solely responsible, the press note warned.
However, Paramilitary forces, Police, administration, medical and media personnel will be exempted from the purview of total indefinite bandh, it added.
Government appeals for restrain
In connection with the 24-hour ultimatum of the YTC and YAA addressed to the Chief Minister of Nagaland pertaining to the YAA Golden Jubilee at Shamator Headquarter from 7 - 10 January 7-10, 2016, the State Government has appealed to the Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA) and Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) not to resort to any course of action which may result in the breach of public peace and tranquility.
Tikhir Tribal Council
The Tikhir Tribal Council (TTC), the apex public of Tikhir tribe has called for taking immediate preventive measures particularly by the deputy commissioner of Tuensang, additional deputy commissioner of Shamator and the state government to enforce the decision of the state cabinet on the ground at Shamator.
