Our memories are still fresh with the appreciations, praises and gratitudes that splashed prominently in pages of local newspapers because of the unprecedented roads ( & bridges too) developments in our state particularly Dimapur city within short span of times soon after our workaholic minister took over charge of PWD Road & Bridges despite financial hardship.
Merrier news echoed the entire state when our state government approved to take up ambitious futuristic Foot Hill Roads project much to the delight of all, particularly the people of the region where the roads will pass through. All these developments were initiated ( and some already completed ) despite limited time and fund under the vissionary and pro development minister Kuzholuzo Nienu. He truly deserve big rounds of applause for judiciously using the meager fund to the fullest benefit of the general public.
But what has shocked the general public is that, the recently formed NFHRCC who should act as pressure group and extend fullest cooperation to the government for corrupt free, smooth and swift execution of the project has instead started to put its fingers in every penny of the project citing the " extra ordinary " road project of NFHR as its sole reason, has started imposing its term and conditions on government and expected cooperation from government with NFHRCC is making mockery of itself in the silent watchful eyes of the general public.
The same mouth that was praising and the hand clapping for ministry Azo yesterday has now started speaking bitter and slapping the face of the same minister simply because the department floated open tender notice for construction of the Foot Hill Road as per government norms and procedures. Oh what a sharp U turn!
NFHRCC's resolution to impose Dimapur total bandh and to remove Azo Nienu as minister of Road and Bridges in the event of government failure to meet its selfish demands is unbecoming, uncivilise and devoid of valid logic on the part of the NFHRCC whose leaders are revered and looked up by the society.
By imposing Dimapur total bandh with volunteers drawn from oft repeated " ten tribes" is muscle flexing and also sown another seed of tribalism in our society besides creating huge loses to the general public economically, academically, etc.
What has NFHRCC gain from the bandh imposed on peace loving citizens of Dimapur other than showing its unscallable ego and creating miseries, hardships, inconvenients, earned public hatred, self defeat, etc ?
NFHRCC has forced Dimapurians to suffer for no fault of theirs, and no amount of justification or clarification NFHRCC has in store is meaningless as public are the best judge.
NFHRCC's resolution No. 3 for removal of the minister of Road & Bridges....is ill intended, a step backward and against the wishes of the general public. Unless one is in the wrong frame of mind filled with greed, vengeance and hatred, demand for removal of the most happening minister at the single instance for not toeing in the line of the wishes of the committee will never arise as what minister did was simply following the government approved norms and procedure of awarding contract work. To remove action oriented minister who sincerely and selflessly work for the development of the state is illogical and making disservice to the people of the state. Nagas as a whole stands to lose in the event of his removal, therefore any move to overthrow the minister of Roads & Bridges out of the present impasse shall attract more public anger. After all what crime has the minister committed that NFHRCC is resolved to remove him?
Honourable minister is expected to stand firm in what he believe is correct. Less you bow down, you will make wrong precedent and no ever worthwhile development would be taken up in future as we know many NFHRCCs will emerge thereby render the state government embarrassed, useless and helpless.
Last yet never the least, Honourable Minister, thank you for bringing so much development and approving this visionary Naga Foot Hill Road project withing a short span of time. We wonder what our state's road condition would be in five year time if sufficient fund is at your disposal. Nagas needs more foot hill roads, Nagas needs sincere and visionary minister like you. For this we pray God to bless you wisdom and long healthy life to lead our people toward prosperouse future. Keep moving, Sir. All the best.
