EASTERN MIRROR: So.. to start with … a short history of ‘We the Giants’…….. How long have your band been playing. What brought you guys together?
We the Giants: Ok we gonna keep this short, we been together for 1 and a half years now, well it all started when we were all working in a studio for a project (a client in the studio)…found out the level of music chemistry was so much synchronized between all of us, that’s when we realized and decided to form the band. And of course Hornbill International Rock Contest 2013 was just around the corner at the moment which made us even more convincing to form a band. In simple words MUSIC BROUGHT US TOGETHER.
EASTERN MIRROR: What specific genre would you guys say you are into?
We the Giants: Post Indie Rock,Basically our music (the genre) is mainly based on rhythmic patterns or so to say the groove as one would describe it with an added airy ambient feel to it.
Hence “Post-Indie Rock” came to scene.
EASTERN MIRROR: Tell us a funny fact about your band that not many know about?
We the Giants: aahhh...funny fact! We don’t exactly have any funny facts as such...but when we do get together we make a whole lotta fun filled memories, it’s hard to just subject it to one particular event. Let’s just say we like to keep some things to ourselves... :)
EASTERN MIRROR: Talk us about your debut single “Young Heart”. What drew inspiration for ‘Young heart’?
We the Giants: The song is mainly about the arbitrary moments in life and the experience we go through within this single lifespan and how we actually learn from our mistakes.
Living the life itself is the main inspiration to all our songs.
Here’s a little chorus of our song “Young Heart” ,may be this will make things more in-depth…
### We make mistakes now
We fail we try now
We live our life loud
Until we make it
Still we stand tall
Till the break of dawn
We cry it out loud
We’re just a young heart
We’re just a young heart
EASTERN MIRROR: If you were to take the stage with a cover song…Whose song would you choose and why?
We the Giants: No songs in particular it all depends on what stage and what audience are we playing for. But if its helps the question, lately we been covering songs from the band “Kenworthy” simply because we feel connected to their songs both lyrically and musically.
Most memorable stage of ‘We the Giants’ till date.
Definitely Ziro the biggest outdoor festival in India.
‘We the Giants’ being a project band must be a traveler too….So… does travelling have any influences while composing songs?
As we have mentioned earlier ... “Living life itself is the main inspiration” and traveling definitely takes a big share in it, making memories and living through...are the jewels of our songs.
