Zeena Singh For Eastern Mirror Sunday
Hello folks,
I believe that life has so much to give if only we cared to give a little thought to the most minuscule of joys (which we’d find so much of) only if we’d stop looking at the looming discomforts and discontents.
So here I am, to share with you the simplest joys in my life as I have experienced some time in my life and those that I take as I face each day, at a time.
The Wonder of Creation –In Rhyme
I have been for an extended period of time, and still exist forever in astonishment and wonder of the exquisiteness of creation. Moments that had had me captivated, however fleeting, I happened to have expressed in simple verse and rhyme, which I share with you today. Being in ‘awe’ of God’s creation is but an understatement. The words I may have used to express what I really feel at this amazement is truly inexpressible and understated. Try as I might, I cannot find words enough to Praise the Wonder of His Works.
(Living in the hills, finds us almost always engulfed in mist. Something so much a part of life there, one tends to take for granted, we may have often ignored its beauty.)
FOG
Tall and Mighty the mountains stand
As if to say – I’m master of the land
White and foamy they billow at her feet
And gently swirl and rise to meet
The tip, which is soon engulfed
Dense it gets and denser still
Till its cloak it spreads over every hill
Dewey drops has every tree
Spraying some on you and me
On my eyelashes and in your hair
“ Mist’ we call it – even “fog”
It blankets every hidden log
Cool on the skin as brushes by
Tingling cheeks with a soft sigh
(Inspired by watching the sky at a sunset one autumn evening, I had to pen down this verse .The colours that were excellently painted across the sky that day, were spectacularly magical)
STOLEN MAGIC MOMENT
You try to hide
But your unfaded glory
Reaches out
Out of reach
Is your world
Yet the golden glow
You leave behind
I can see
It touches me
Every heart you brighten
Your mem’ry paints a thrill
Blending hues of
Pink and Mauve
Rust and Red
Etched to last
Till your charm again is cast
And I am captured
By that magic moment
Fast fading out of reach
Coming almost face to face with the Great Himalayan Range at a height, up in the skies while on a flight in the early part of the morning gave me this 35,000 feet ‘High’ . The Magnificence of this Grand Colossal expanse of Solid Rock structured so spectacularly surely would’ve taken your breath away as it had mine.
A flash of inspiration gained as I spot one bright star staring back at me. Something way out in the Universal Galaxy suspended in space; placed in the heavens to appear appealing and attractive to behold.
