DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 9: Indigenous Minority Tribes of Nagaland (IMTN) comprising of Kuki, Kachari, Garo and Mikir/Karbi tribes of Nagaland conducted a joint social work at Rajbari on October 7.
Rajbari is a historical place of the Kachari kingdom from where Dimapur derived its name from the Dima Raja. The Dima Raja Kingdom was established way back in 10th Century AD.
The bricks built gateway and the monolithic statues are the only remnants left of a once great kingdom established on the bank of river Dhansiri where the township was established by the Kachari kings.
The social work cum get together was initiated with the view to protect, preserve and beautify the only historical remains dating way back to the 10th Century AD and foster spirit of brotherhood among the four minority indigenous tribes of Nagaland.
IMTN announced to carry out such programmes in the future to foster spirit of unity and brotherhood all over Nagaland.
