Imphal, Nov. 3 (EMN): The 4th ‘Cultural Revivalist’ day was observed in Imphal on Saturday, with Consumers Affairs Food and Public Distribution Minister Karam Shyam.
The minister addressing the gathering, expressed the need to promote Meitei Sanamahi Laining religion to other places of the globe. To do this, he said responsibility lay on the shoulders of the public.
Citing Darwin’s Natural Theory of Struggle for Existence, Shyam said “we should try to act responsible by maintaining our unique dress, speech, lifestyle along with our rich culture and customs in public in such a way that our religion continues to grow & survive in the global arena.”
Head of all the six branches of SEACO were also felicitated during the programme.
NEIDP leader Sapam Keba Singh and Sapamcha Jadumani also spoke during the programme.
Vice-President Sapam Keba Singh of North East India Democratic Party; President Kolomcha Achoubi Khuman of SEACO; Chief Editor Pukhrambam Ibochou of Kanglapao; Advisor Akham Langol of SEACO, editors of local newspapers and other dignitaries attended the programme as special guests.
