[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Imphal-Mandalay flight which was scheduled to take off from Imphal on June 27 has been postponed in view of the non-completion of certain ground works, according to K B Enterprises, an Imphal-based private tour operator.
Proprietor P Kunjabihari Singh of K B Enterprises in a press release here said K B Enterprises had once again arranged for a Golden Myanmar Airlines chartered flight for Imphal-Mandalay-Imphal on 27 June 2014. Everything is ready for the flight. “Unfortunately, no clearance from the Civil Aviation and Home Affairs Ministry in, New Delhi had been received.
Moreover, installation of certain units for international flights is also incomplete, the release said.Earlier K B Enterprises had arranged a chartered flight for the first time from Mandalay to Imphal as part of the state’s annual Sangai Festival in November last year. It was an opening of link between South East Asia and Manipur. The people of Myanmar still remember the journey. Earlier for the second time in the aviation history of Manipur, Golden Myanmar Airlines agreed to start its operation on a trial basis by introducing an Imphal-Mandalay for a round trip (June 27-June 31) as done on November 21 last year. As many as 20 passengers had even booked the proposed Imphal-Mandalay flight this time.But they are compelled to postpone the flight.It may be mentioned that the fare of the round trip will be Rs 14,500 and Rs 34,500 for Imphal-Mandalay and Imphal-Mandalay-Singapore sector.
