According to an update, Assistant Professor in the Department of History, Dr. Merensenla Jamir, delivered a speech pointing out that in a land like Nagaland, heritage is not just culture, but it is our identity. She noted that it defines who we are as tribes, as communities, and as a people with deep-rooted traditions.
She reiterated that heritage lives in our stories, our songs, our festivals, our dialects, and our ways of life. For the Nagas, heritage is not something we visit; it is something we live, she added.
Dr. Jamir further underscored the need for younger generations to develop a sense of pride in their cultural inheritance. She stated that when younger generations lose touch with tradition, heritage silently fades and cultural continuity weakens.
