Dimapur, August 23 (EMN): Minister of Roads and Bridges, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, today inaugurated the new building block of Immanuel College commemorating its 24th annual social day in Lingrijan, Dimapur.
Speaking after inaugurating the college new building block, Dr. Kire, while citing the commemoration theme “building blocks of success,” reminded the student community that over the years, students have been the block which has been built by the teachers who acted as the base.
“Institution is where you all join together to build blocks of success,” exhorted Dr. Kire.
Citing the famous maxim “A house is built by hands, but a home is built by hearts,” the legislator exhorted the student community to regard college as their home and the faculties as the hearts.
Witnessing the activities performed by the students,’ Dr. Kire advised the students to follow their own skills instead of attempting and getting themselves involved in all the activities which might be not in their competence and becoming master’s of none.
Pondering upon the roads and bridges condition in the State, which is also a raging discussion on social media, the legislator asserted that it is impossible to restore roads in the entire state in a short span of five to six months, he said the least that can be done is to try to take care of all the district headquarters. He assured that the government will try to do everything possible by end year.
On the occasion, Dr. Kire lauding Immanuel College for ranking as the fourth highest point in the state assessed by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in September 2016, suggested colleges in the state to initiate maintaining college website so as to keep a track on their alumnus which to a certain extent will be of assistance for both the college and the students’. On this note, the legislator urged upon the students’ to have a feeling of responsibility and pay back to the college and society at large with their success history.
