Dimapur, Nov. 15 (EMN): Immanuel College, Dimapur, celebrated its silver jubilee on November 14 with Menukhol John, principal secretary of School Education and SCERT, as the special guest.
In his speech, Menukhol John spoke on the challenges that come with the passage of time and advised the students to lead a healthy and a wise life, to be diligent in their studies as well as in the choices they make. He added that teachers of today should also be able to cater to the demands of the generation by adapting more to the changes and not to be stagnant.
He concluded his speech by thanking the management and urged them to continue using the college as a means of providing vision, imparting both knowledge and wisdom that would last a lifetime, which would in turn help in transforming the society and the nation.
The special guest also unveiled the jubilee monolith, an update from Akutu Poireng, convenor of media cell stated on Thursday.
Dedicatory prayer was said by Rev. Kilang Jamir, Youth Harvest Ministry, while the invocation was offered by Vepu, assistant professor of Botany department. The welcome address and brief history of the college was delivered by the college principal Th. Sharatchandra Singh.
A short documentary highlighting 25 years journey of the college was also screened and presented by Khrutalu Dozo, department of Political Science.
