
DIMAPUR — Imli Sunep, founder of Sunep Art, was declared winner of the PwD startup competition organised by the YouthNet held on June 16 in its office in Dimapur.
An update from YouthNet informed that Sunep would receive a sum of INR 60,000, while the runner-up GMV Group would receive a sum of INR 40,000 and others receive a sum of INR 20,000 each. It informed that seven persons participated in the competition. All the participants would receive seed money for their businesses.
The primary objective of the event was to encourage and empower PwD entrepreneurs, foster an inclusive ecosystem to celebrate their talents and provide opportunities for growth.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]The judges of the competition were T Jamir, general manager of Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Ltd; Vivito, managing director of Nagaland Coffee; Nune Chase, director of YouthNet; Yanpvuo Kikon, founder of Kikonic Tech and Kley Enterprise; Ashe H Kiba, programme coordinator of the State Commissioner For Persons With Disabilities; Nukuzo Phesao, proprietor of Warehouse103.
It stated that the PwD startup programme has been instrumental in nurturing the entrepreneurial aspirations of people with disabilities by providing them with a supportive platform to showcase their innovative business ideas.
YouthNet launched the North East India first startup incubation programme for persons with disabilities, in collaboration with office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, and Startup Nagaland under the department of Industries and Commerce on December 12, 2022, at YouthNet’s office in Dimapur.
It further added that the YouthNet Incubation Centre provides access to infrastructure, networking, financing and related business services for the entrepreneurs.
