IMD forecasts six days of rain in Nagaland

KOHIMA — The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall across Nagaland for the next six days, with very heavy rainfall expected from July 24 to 26.


According to the IMD’s update, light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is likely to continue across Northeast India for the next seven days.


It further specified that heavy rainfall is expected over Assam and Meghalaya until July 26, while Arunachal Pradesh will experience heavy showers on July 22.


In Nagaland and Tripura, heavy rainfall is expected from July 24 to 26, with fishermen being advised to take necessary precautions.


District-wise data indicates that thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls will affect the state on Tuesday (July 22) and Wednesday (July 23). Very heavy rainfall is predicted in Zunheboto and Tuensang on July 24, while Zunheboto and Mokokchung will experience heavy rainfall on July 25.


Residents and travellers have been urged to stay informed and take necessary precautions to stay safe during this period of intense weather.
