Dimapur, Dec. 21 (EMN): The Public Action Committee (PAC) under Naga Council Dimapur has expressed shock and dismay at what it stated was the department of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs issuing ‘lease systems to collect utility fees.’
In a statement issued on Saturday, the committee maintained that this was the main cause of the price rise of commodities. The government, it stated, has not heeded to the public outcry; and informed all tribe hohos “to be ready with volunteers for any action any time”.
It also appealed to the authorities to desist their personnel from the collection at the gates “in the name of Christmas, which is totally unchristian and against our religion”.
