The centre’s director, Kaushik Deb, called employment the main focus for any society because “to give the best education or training only to the students is not enough.”
“The system has to provide platform to the students to implement and explore their skill in a professional field,” he said.
It was informed that activity was conducted to assess job seekers in finding a suitable job and recruiters to gain more employees for their company. Another attraction for the youth was also the salary packages which started in the range INR 12,000-50,000.
More than 250 candidates attended the job fair this year. Most candidates were graduates who came in with certificates and documents. Saku, a bachelor’s degree holder in commerce, said that he had been without a job for two years after graduating as there were ‘not enough jobs in the state.’ “I hope that through platforms like this youth like me can get a job and support the family,” he said.
The fair’s objective was designed to help unemployed youth explore the job market and to secure employment. It also provided recruiters with opportunities to hire fresh candidates, those with degrees; employers also found benefit by having new additions to their teams.
