IICC conducts training on counseling

Dimapur, July 21 (EMN): In response to an increasing need for faith-based counseling training programmes in the state, Insight Institute of Christian counseling (IICC) at 6th Mile, Sovima, organised a three-day of training on ‘Introduction to Christian counseling’ from July 13 to the15th.

An update from IICC stated that the participants comprised not only those involved in full-time church ministry but also from law and psychology graduates, school teachers and entrepreneurs.

It added that a total of 14 trainees from Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Kohima, and Tseminyu districts attended the training, the youngest being 20-years old and the eldest 55 years.

Some key concepts taught in the training included the basics of Christian counseling, basic skills in Christian counseling, Christian counseling verse secular counseling, skills to identify client issues and referral skills.

The trainers were Dr. Yehoto Swu Kiho and Nighatoli Achumi, founders of IICC.
