Dimapur, Sep. 10 (EMN): Inspector General of Police (IGP), CRPF Manipur and Nagaland Sector, Randeep Datta, along with DIG (Operations) CRPF Kohima visited the 78 Battalion CRPF headquarters at Sachu Zubza in Kohima district and other CRPF establishments to review the overall security situation in Nagaland on September 9.
A defence release stated that Surender Singh, Commandant of 78 Battalion CRPF, briefed on the preparedness of CRPF in performing their assigned duties in Nagaland.
It stated that the IGP, CRPF Manipur and Nagaland Sector, expressed satisfaction on the commitment and preparedness of CRPF in the state. He complimented the troops for their sustained hard work, professionalism and devotion to duty.
During the visit, he also held several security meetings with other security agencies in Kohima as well with CRPF officials of 78 Battalion CRPF. He also participated in a volleyball match with the officers and Jawans of 78 Battalion CRPF and distributed prizes to all the participants.
Further, as part of the nationwide movement to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by inculcating physical activities and sports in daily lives, the IGP, CRPF Manipur and Nagaland Sector, also took part in “Virtual run under Fit India Movement” at 78 Battalion CRPF headquarters along with the jawans and their family members.
Randeep Datta along with DIG (Operations), CRPF Kohima, also visited the 173 Battalion CRPF headquarters at Dimapur to reviewed the development works on the full-fledged CRPF unit headquarters, which is to be established shortly in Chümoukedima in Dimapur district on an area measuring 50.15 acres for establishment of an unattached battalion of CRPF.
MHA has approved for construction of staff quarters, administrative blocks, hospitals, quarter guard, playground, men’s club in the said project for battalion camping site and initial survey and preliminary estimates have already been done for constructions of boundary walls, the report stated.
Further, layout plan of staff quarters, administration blocks etc are already in the process. With the development happening, it assured that there would be a huge impact to the people especially in terms of economy and developmental activities in Chümoukedima area in particular and Dimapur district in general in near future.
