Dimapur, September 3: The Indira Gandhi Sports Academy held its sports meet on 3rd September at IG stadium Kohima with Additional Director YR&S, Neilalhoulie as the chief guest.
Neilalhoulie, while encouraging the sports students, stressed on discipline and justice in sports. He mentioned that discipline is the greatest thing for sportsperson both on and off the field. “You can’t achieve your goal without discipline”, he maintained. Urging the students he said sports is the easiest way to get rich and sportsmen are the richest people today. He asked the organizers and the judges to maintain justice during competitions since injustice can break the motivation of the students.Deputy Director YR&S, Nizheto Awomi shared his experience as a sportsperson and also expressed the need of sports to go hand in hand with studies.
It is the first sports meet organized for the Academy students. Administrator of IG Academy, Jakedovo Chase said it was an initiative taken in order to expose the students in different sports disciplines other than their own and also promote solidarity among the community at the IG Academy.
