Dimapur, Oct. 15 (EMN): Phek inter-personal education communication (IEC) team, in coordination with the mobile medical unit (MMU), has carried out an awareness activity at Mutsale village, Khuza village, and Chepoketa village on October 12.
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Phek, stated that awareness activities were conducted for pregnant women and lactating mothers on the importance of ante-natal check-up (ANC), immunisation and breastfeeding.
It stated that a total of 78 people have availed free check-up conducted by Kiviholi, general nursing and midwifery (GNM), and Keni, lab-technician of MMU team. Besides, a total of 12 pregnant women have availed ante-natal check-up, while 41 persons were screened for diabetes and five were screened for RDT (Malaria).
The update added that MMU team has been providing free services every month targeting pregnant women and elderly people.
