DIMAPUR — The
Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC) of the Investment and
Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), in collaboration with the Nagaland
Science and Technology Council (NASTEC) and Educentre School of Business (ESB),
hosted a one-day awareness programme on intellectual property rights (IPR) at
the Innovation and Incubation Centre, IDAN, Kohima.
The programme commenced with a special remark from I
Changsang, Under Secretary, who emphasised the importance of the IPFC. He
highlighted how IDAN IPFC’s collaboration with NASTEC and ESB aims to provide
unparalleled services to the entrepreneurs of Nagaland.
Changsang also urged the attendees to leverage the platform
for the growth and protection of their businesses.
The event also featured resource persons: Kekuniel Ltu,
scientist 'B', NASTEC, who elaborated on "intellectual property rights and
its components"; Gihukali Chishi, technical in-charge, Patent Information
Centre-NASTEC, who discussed "patents, trademarks, designs, and trade
secrets"; and Ketoulhoutuo-u Rame, IPR legal consultant, IPFC, who shared
valuable insights and experiences on "infringement and opposition”.
This initiative by IPFC is part of its ongoing efforts to support
entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators in Nagaland, providing the necessary
support to commercialise their businesses.
