DIMAPUR — The
Id-ul-Fitre 2025 Namaj shall be held at Dimapur Iddgah Prayer Ground at
Golaghat Road, Dimapur, at 07:45 am. An update from the Idgah Committee Dimapur
stated that this year's Id-ul-Fitre prayer shall be led by Maulana Fuzail Ahmed
Sb Pesh, Imam Idgah Jame Masjid, Dimapur. The Idgah Committee wished all a
Happy Idd and requested all to cooperate with the committee during Idd Namaj.

Management celebrates 25 years
DIMAPUR — Lords
Infotech Management Pvt. Ltd., the parent company of the National Institute of
Information Technology (NIIT)/NITI Dimapur Centre, marked its 25th anniversary
with a brief celebration at the NITI Dimapur Centre on March 27. In a press
release from the institute, it was mentioned that the company has continuously
evolved to meet the changing educational and technological needs of society.
Initially operating as a franchisee of NIIT Ltd. for 22 years, it played a
crucial role in information technology (IT) education and IT-enabled services
(ITES), along with initiatives in schools, colleges, corporate training, and
enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. However, post the COVID-19
pandemic, the company diversified its focus to address the growing need for
career-oriented education in medical and engineering fields as well. At the
celebration, Ajay Sethi, managing director of NITI Nagaland, shared his vision
for the company’s growth alongside Nagaland’s development.
DIMAPUR — Nagaland
Football Coaches Association (NFCA), in a letter to the Director General of
Police, Nagaland, has appealed for a thorough investigation and timely update
of the whole incident to the general public and sporting fraternity with regard
to the accident that happened during the early hours on March 25 at 5th Mile,
Chümoukedima, leading to the loss of one of its members, William Koso. In it,
the NFCA stated that with this tragic incident taking place, the sporting
fraternity has been left stunned and with regret and is duly in need of answers
to this very unfortunate incident. Mentioning that it is learnt that the police
had apprehended and taken the culprit into custody, it said that it also
anticipates a judicious and prompt inquiry and investigation into this matter
and bringing out the entire result to the public domain for the masses.
DIMAPUR — State
Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised a
two-day training programme on “Management practices of silkworm and silk using
traditional and innovative applications” on March 27 and 28. According to an
update, during the training, Vilhousienuo Khro, DSO, Kohima, covered topics on
cultivation technology and management of host plants castor and kessari, as
well as disinfection of rearing houses and equipment and rearing technology.
The participants were taken on a field visit to the Sericulture Farm,
Dhansiripar, Chümoukedima, led by Zhipen, EO farm in incharge. Upon completion,
the training certificates were distributed to the trainees by Dr. Watimongla
Jamir, Director of SAMETI and Principal of IETC.

Unity College
celebrates World Theatre Day
DIMAPUR — The
Drama and Fine Arts Cell of Unity College of Teacher Education, Dimapur,
observed World Theatre Day on March 27 and 28 at the college premises.
According to an update, student-teachers of the second semester exhibited their
paintings, and plays such as ‘The Wax Lady’ and ‘The Clever Friend’ were
staged. It was mentioned that the objective of such creative activities is not
only to make learning enjoyable but also to equip students to foster
creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression while enhancing teamwork,
cultural awareness, and communication.
GPRN/NSCN (Kitovi)
mourns demise of Lt. Col. Wopamo
DIMAPUR — The
Kitovi-led GPRN/NSCN expressed sorrow at the untimely passing of Lieutenant
Colonel Wopamo, the son of the late Nkhumo from Old Chungsu village in Wokha
district, on March 28 while fulfilling his duties. In a press release, it was
stated that the GPRN/NSCN is incredibly grateful for his dedicated service and
the sacrifices he made while serving in the Lotha Region. The GPRN/NSCN
extended its deepest sympathies to the family of the departed and mentioned
that he served the Naga nation since 1990 (35 years). His unwavering service
and the void created by his demise will be deeply felt and difficult to fill.
Bailey Baptist College
holds accreditation workshop
DIMAPUR — The
Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Bailey Baptist College, Wokha,
organised a one-day workshop on assessment and accreditation on Friday. The
event featured Dr. Watijungshi Jamir, retired Additional Director of Higher
Education, as the resource person, according to a press release. The workshop
comprised two sessions: ‘Introductory Talk on Assessment and Accreditation’ and
‘Assessment and Accreditation: Quality Indicator Framework (QIF)’.
New members join NSCN
(Khango-Hokato) with arms
DIMAPUR — NSCN/GPRN
(Khango-Hokato Vusshe) has welcomed 33 national workers, comprising both civil
and military personnel, from NSCN/GPRN (R), along with a huge cache of arms and
ammunition. In a press statement, it was mentioned that, at times like this,
when the common people are confused by so many Naga political groups, the
NSCN/GPRN acknowledges the maturity and wisdom of these Naga national workers
in joining the mainstream and working cohesively to strengthen the collective
leadership of the President of NSCN/GPRN, Lieutenant General (Retd) Khango
Konyak, and Ato Kilonser, Hokato Vusshe. Furthermore, it was noted that since
2024, around 250 individuals from different political groups, both civil and
military, have joined the mainstream, reaffirming that the experience of these
returning veterans has strengthened the government's stance.
