Dimapur, March 22 (EMN): The ICFAI University Nagaland (IUN) Annual Sports Week kicked off on Wednesday at IUN Campus, Sovima with Jt. Registrar Khrieketou Kuotsu as the special guest. In the inaugural programme, Khrieketou Kuotsu said that sports and games have been an integral part of human society and civilisation for thousands of years. He stressed on sports and games and its benefits as it offers personal, social, health, emotional and mental benefits. While encouraging the students to participate in true spirit, he says that winning should not be the emphasis but over emphasis on winning may have reverse effects. Everyone may choose any sport according to one’s ability and interest and get going. Everyone does not need to take it professionally but take it as a part of our lifestyle.
The students are divided into four groups namely Black Panthers (Blue House), Raccon (Red House), Artic Wolves (Green House) and Vicious Vipers (Yellow House). The three days sports week which began on March 22 will culminate at Sovima village ground on March 24.
