ICAR Manipur Centre won the First Best Stall Award at State Krishi Mela 2026 for showcasing innovative farm technologies.

IMPHAL — The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Complex for North Eastern Hill Region, Manipur Centre, has been awarded the First Best Stall Award at the State Krishi Mela 2026 held in Manipur.
The Krishi Mela was organised under the theme, “Balanced use of fertiliser,” with the objective of promoting balanced fertilisation for healthy crops and sustainable soil health.
The award was conferred in recognition of the centre's outstanding exhibition showcasing its research achievements, improved crop varieties, climate-resilient agricultural technologies, farm machinery and implements, integrated farming systems, and farmer-oriented extension activities.
The stall attracted a large number of farmers, students, entrepreneurs, government officials, and other visitors owing to its informative displays and interactive demonstrations.

The exhibition highlighted a wide range of technologies and innovations developed by the centre in the fields of crop science, horticulture, natural resource management, agricultural engineering, livestock, fisheries, and agricultural extension.
Information on sustainable farming practices, balanced nutrient management, climate-smart agriculture, and improved production technologies suitable for the North Eastern Hill Region was also disseminated to visitors.
Expressing satisfaction over the recognition, Dr. S. Basanta Singh, Head of the ICAR Regional Centre, congratulated the scientists, technical staff, supporting personnel, and staff of the Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) for their dedicated efforts in planning, organising, and managing the exhibition.
He appreciated the collective contribution of all divisions and KVKs in effectively showcasing the centre's research achievements and technologies, which contributed to securing the top honour at the event.
