ICAR DDG inaugurates mithun product sales counter

DIMAPUR — Dr. Raghavendra Bhatta, Deputy Director General (Animal Science) of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), inaugurated the mithun products sales counter and laid the foundation stone for the farmers' hostel at ICAR-National Research Centre (NRC) on Mithun, Medziphema, on May 1.

According to a press release, the event took place in the presence of Dr. G K Gaur, Additional Director General (Animal Production and Breeding), and Dr. Girish Patil, Director of ICAR-NRC on Mithun. The DDG (AS) also inaugurated the facility of the mithun bull paddock.

Following this, an interactive session was held with the scientists of the institute.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bhatta praised the centre for its remarkable progress, extending his heartfelt wishes to the scientists and staff in their endeavours.

Gaur, in his remarks, highlighted the strides made by the centre in the areas of genetics, health, reproduction, and nutrition. He further outlined a roadmap for the centre in the years ahead.

During the programme, dignitaries released publications, including the Annual Report 2023, Technology Inventory, and an e-book highlighting the Intellectual Property Rights profile of the ICAR-NRC on Mithun.

Earlier, Patil gave a presentation on the centre's progress in research, infrastructure, and financial management.
