IMPHAL — Mushroom farmer and agripreneur
Rajkumari Binita Devi, from Moirangkampu Sajeb in Imphal East district, has
been honoured with the Best Farmer's Award by the ICAR Research Complex for
North East Hill Region, Umiam, Meghalaya.

The award was presented during the institute's golden jubilee
celebration, which took place at ICAR Umiam, Meghalaya, on January 9 and 10.
The award includes a memento, a certificate, and a cash prize of INR 10,000.
According to a release issued by the ICAR Research Complex
for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Rajkumari Binita Devi began growing mushrooms
in 2011 and transitioned into a mushroom entrepreneur in 2016. Currently, she
produces approximately 40,000 kg of fresh mushrooms annually.
She also produces a variety of mushroom products, including
dried mushrooms, mushroom powder, mushroom pickles, mushroom nuggets (bori),
mushroom cookies, mushroom noodles, mushroom papad, and has recently launched
mushroom chips.
She received training and technical support from the ICAR
Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat, and the
Agri-Business Incubation Centre of the ICAR Manipur Cen
