Dimapur, Jan. 23: The Indian Blind Football Federation (IBFF) an independent body promoted by Society for Rehabilitation of the Visually challenged (SRVC) - a registered charitable orgnisation based in Kochi, Kerala has been working with Paralympic Committee of India to promote B1 Blind Football in India. IBFF has been training and helping promote the game to encourage the visually challenged talents across the country and ultimately get recognized at the national and international level. The Indian Blind Football team is ranked 23rd in the world.
IBFF is conducting the first ever Blind Football Tournament at Shillong from January 27 to 29, with 5 teams from Shillong, Tura, Aizawl, Guwahati and Kolkata.
Similarly, Blind football orientation camp will be conducted at Dimapur on January 30 at Don Bosco Hr. Secondary School, Dimapur. Persons with Visual Impairment (Blind) along with escorts & social workers are invited to participate in this first ever BLIND FOOTBALL ORIENTATION CAMP. Outstation participants must reach Dimapur on January 29 evening or latest by 7:00 a.m on January 30, where they will be accommodated at AIDA Don Bosco and travel allowances will be reimbursed on produce of original tickets of bus/shared sumo. There will also be music audition/selection of talented blind musicians by 11:30 a.m at the same venue.
