Dimapur, Aug. 6 (EMN): Under the relentless efforts and initiative of the state government, the Indian Air Force (AIF) on Aug. 6 airdropped essential commodities at Kiphire’s Assam Rifles ground.
A DIPR report state that in the first airdrop, essential commodities comprising of 100 kgs of sugar, 2 bags of salt, 6 bags of potatoes, 3 bags of onion, 2 bags of dal, 10 kgs of tealeaves, 8 cartons of mustard oil, 25 carton of mineral water (250 ml) and 10 cartons of ‘white magic (1 kg).
In the Second Airdrop, 20 bags of Rice; 25 cartoon of Mineral Water and Dal 30 kg were airdrop for the Kiphire district, the most affected district due to landslides and collapse of retaining walls, the DIPR reported. It may be noted here that the roads leading to Kiphire district still remains cut off from the rest of the state.
