KOHIMA — A collection of poetry titled I Think to Myself by Menang Longkumer was officially released at The Book Home, Kohima, on Friday.
Author and poet Avinuo Kire released the book, marking The PenThrill Publication House's 122nd publication.
In his author's note, Longkumer shared that he always found himself returning to moments of silence, the quiet spaces between conversations, the brief pauses in an ordinary day, and the thoughts that arrive when the world finally settles down.
“It is often in these small moments that I find myself asking questions, revisiting memories, and trying to understand the many fragments that make up life. ‘I Think to Myself’ was born from those moments”, he shared.

Publisher Vishü Rita Krocha said her association with the author began in 2024 with the publication of his debut book, ‘Besought Grit.’
Krocha said that in an era that moves with dizzying haste, Longkumer remains remarkably grounded, a genuinely good, humble and sincere person at such a young age.
Releasing the book, Avinuo Kire said it is a poignant collection of poems, candid and vulnerable, often whimsical, delving into the musings of the poet, his thoughts and his reflections on life and nature, while capturing beauty in simple ordinary life.
She said poetry is needed today in a world that is wounded and fractured.
“More than ever, we need to act and to act well, we must first look inwards. We need to retrospect, to think wisely, deeply and honestly. And these thoughts in written form, can be an effective moral compass”, she added.
