DIPHU — Diphu-based Karbi Anglong Morning Star Football Club (KAMSFC) defeated Sporting Club Bengaluru 1-0 in their away match at CSE Arena-1 in Bengaluru on April 27 during the ongoing I-League 2 campaign.
KAMSFC is the only professional football club from Assam representing the state in the I-League, the official tournament of the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
With this win, KAMSFC has reached the third position in the points table, accumulating eight points from six matches. The team has registered two wins and two draws so far.
KAMSFC forward Kevisanyu Peseyie, who was named player of the match, scored the only goal in the ninth minute to seal the win against last season's I-League 2 team, Sporting Club Bengaluru.
KAMSFC’s campaign began at home at the Karbi Anglong Sports Association Stadium on March 27, where they played out a goalless draw against Sudeva Delhi FC. Their first away outing on April 2 saw them suffer a narrow 1-2 defeat to Delhi FC.
Waisong Bey, Manager of KAMSFC and former captain of the club who holds UEFA and AIFF coaching licences, expressed his happiness after winning the away match against Sporting Club Bengaluru.
He stated that the squad has a good combination on the ground and hopes to reach the next level. The club will face United Sports Club on May 2 and NEROCA FC on May 8.
