Huvo Vese is first PAWA U-16 champion

Winners of the first U-16 wrestling tournament of PAWA along with the wrestlers who will participate in the CWA tournament at Phek Local Ground on January 30.

Kohima, Jan. 30 (EMN): Huvo Vese emerged as the champion of the first under-16 wrestling tournament of Phek Area Wrestling Association (PAWA) held at Phek Local Ground on Thursday.

Vese of Lozaphuhu village pocketed a cash prize of INR 20,000 while first runner-up Kuveluto Rhakho from Kutsapo village and second runner-up Johi Rhakho from Phek village walked away with a cash prize of INR 15,000 and INR 10,000 respectively.

Thenuveyi Vero of Cepoketa village will join the three winners in the forthcoming 1st edition of Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) under-16 championship at Phek Town on February 19.

Meanwhile, 12 senior wrestlers namely Vekuzo Vezuh, Serayi, Kuluveto Rhakho, Basayi Keyho, Vekutho Soho, Surhovoyi Nienu, Raku Rhakho, Kewecholo Akami, Beduhu Khamo, Kuchohu Curha, Kuluvezo Soho and Kutu Lohe will represent PAWA in the forthcoming 28th wrestling tournament of CWA at Phek town on February 18.
