Dimapur May 13 (EMN): The last day of the previously extended date for inter-district movement of stranded people saw the last batches of citizens leaving for their home districts on May 13 from the state stadium in Dimapur.
Inter-district travel for stranded people was allowed from May 7, and May 13 was the last day allowed by the state government for the purpose.
According to the registration counter for Noklak district, approximately 100 people registered to travel. It was informed that three buses would be travelling to Noklak. One bus was provided by the Nagaland state government and two buses were provided by a local legislator, H Haiying.
Sources informed that even though well-wishers were ready to help financially, the number of buses that was required for transportation was not available.
According to the registration counter for Mokokchung district, more than 2,000 people have been sent to Mokokchung till date. On the last day of the inter-district movement, May 13, approximately 170 people were about to travel to Mokokchung in five buses provided by the state government, and Hope Academy, Chumoukedima Ao Baptist Church, and the Diphupar Ao Baptist Church.
The Ao student’s Union of Dimapur informed that the minister for Higher and Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along, had been arranging food for the people travelling to the district till date. Financial aid was also provided by well-wishers, it was informed.

Similarly, the Wokha district registration counter informed that more than 700 people were sent in total including those who registered for Wednesday’s travel to the district. Sources added that only one bus would be travelling from Dimapur to Wokha and with around 30 individuals.
Further, a representative at the registration counter for Zunheboto informed that around 2000 people have been sent to the district till date. The source added that on Wednesday, approximately 17 buses were arranged. Approximately 600 people were registered to travel to Zunheboto on Wednesday.
According to the Tuensang counter, approximately 100 people were to be sent from two buses that were arranged as of May 13. The source informed that a total of 688 people have been sent to their places, which included Kiphire district and Longkhim-chare in Tuensang.
