Dimapur, Nov. 9: A house has been reduced to ashes at a sector known among the locals as ‘Yimchung last khel’ in Tuensang on Friday November 9.
The officer in-charge of the fire department in Tuensang, C. Renbenthung Lotha, told Eastern Mirror over telephone that the department received the phone call around 2:09 pm. He said that the house belonged to two families.
According to the officer, the fire started inside the kitchen from the hearth. The house was made of wood making it easier for the fire to annihilate. Values estimating around INR 6 lacs and important documents, belonging to the student of that house, were destroyed. He added that there were no reports of any casualties.
It took half an hour for three fire engines to dose out the fire. The officer said that the fire was brought under control around 2:39 pm.
