Dimapur, June 6 (EMN): A fire broke out at Seiuruzha Ward-8 in Chümoukedima, Dimapur, on Saturday morning, destroying a kitchen and partially damaging a house.

An update from Fire and Emergency Services, Nagaland, informed that property worth INR 4 lakh was lost in the fire incident but there no casualty was reported. “The cause of fire is due to drying of pork meat,” it said.

Fire and Emergency Services received call about the fire in Chümoukedima at 9:05 am on June 6, after which a quick response team from Fire Station Chümoukedima led by Duty Commander ASI Thangpong Khiamniungan was mobilised, informed the update.

It added that the Fire personnel reached the incident site at 9:12 am and two fire tenders were pressed into action. The fire was put under control within 35 minutes, and thus prevented from further spreading to adjoining areas.
