Although the exact cause of the fire is yet to be verified, a short circuit is suspected to have triggered the blaze. The extent of damage could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
During the firefighting efforts, Sub-Inspector Pielie sustained a deep cut to his left ring finger after coming into contact with a sheet of tin.
He was immediately assisted by the duty officer from Wokha Police Station and other personnel to the District Hospital, where he received four stitches and underwent further treatment.
No other injuries or casualties were reported from the scene.
The firefighters successfully brought the flames under control and prevented it from spreading to nearby structures.
