Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): While calling the Hornbill Festival of 2019 a grand success, the chief minister of Nagaland has urged for continued efforts to constantly “improve upon our shortcomings and learn from experiences” to take the festival to new heights and “on a global scale.”
The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) issued a copy of a message that Neiphiu Rio was stated to have issued congratulating organisers and all who participated in the annual cultural event.
“I write to congratulate you on the successful conduct of the 20th edition of the Hornbill Festival. This year’s festival has been an overwhelming success with a record number of tourists and visitors from different parts of the world,” Rio stated.
‘The most welcomed aspect was the positive participation of the local tourists and the local population, the citizens of Nagaland who came out in large numbers to participate and support all the hundreds of different events.’
From the inaugural programme to the closing ceremony, he stated, the overall conduct and organisation of all aspects of the festival has significantly improved and the events were indeed impressive.’
The chief minister urged to continue making efforts to constantly “improve upon our shortcomings and learn from experiences” so that together with the people of Nagaland who are the real stakeholders, the festival would attain new heights “on a global scale.”
The chief minister congratulated the Nagaland government team and departments, tribal organisations, event management groups, and nongovernmental organisations who he said worked together to make the Hornbill Festival 2019 a grand success.
“I take this opportunity to convey the appreciation and gratitude of the state government to the people of Nagaland, especially the youth for the tremendous support and the positive energy that was so evident during the 10 clays festival,” the chief minister stated.
“We must also appreciate all the guests, friends and tourists who come from different parts of the globe and continue to be our ambassadors. We are glad they all came. Thank you and congratulations once again.”
