The Hornbill Music festival, one of India's biggest music festivals, has yet again raised the level of musical enterprise making the event undoubtedly a crowd puller as usual.
The first day of the Hornbill International Music Festival (HIMF) 2019 kicked off on a high note on December 1 at the Agri Expo in Dimapur.
The minister for Public Work Department Tongpang Ozukum declared the 10-day HIMF open, and conveyed the government's greetings to all the festive goers.
Ozukum expressed profound happiness that the HIMF was now a platform for Naga musicians to connect with artists of the world.
Music is one of the biggest industries in the world, Ozukum said. 'We the Nagas can shake the world with the musical talents that we have.’
The first day of the music festival saw the performances of five artists from Nagaland namely Tali Angh, Divine Connection, Ayim, Tokaholi, and Asin Shurhozelie.
The music festival was previously held in the state’s capital town Kohima till 2016. The event was shifted in 2017 to the state’s commercial centre Dimapur.
Apart from musical concert, stalls have been set up at the venue for the crowd of food lovers thronging the festival.
