The stage is all set for the Hornbill International Rock Contest (HIRC) as 24 bands from across the globe will vie for top honours at the contest.
The rock contest as per the release will commence in the evening at the venue for the Hornbill International Music Festival (HIMF) at Agri expo site, 4th Mile.
The show is said to be hosted by one of Nagaland’s most renowned artist Moanungsang Jamir while the panel of Judges for this year’s HIRC are said to be Soumini Sridhara Paul, Uday Benegal and Mhaseve Tetseo.

Soumini Sridhara Paul: Soumini Sridhara Paul is the vice president of the Talent and Independent content platform, Artist Aloud (Hungama Digital Media Ent. Pvt. Ltd.). Launched in January 2010, Soumini has spearheaded the set up of Artist Aloud, South Asia’s premier digital platform for established and new talent with independent audio and video content along with a dedicated team.
She has over 20 years experience as a pop artist, artist manager as well as assignments with Channel [V] including Bollywood, independent and international talent and universal music including album launches and promotions and artist relations.
As a hobby, Soumini has been dabbling into writing for the last five years and Disha-The Challenge is her first ever-published work through Partridge.
Uday Benegal: Uday Benegal is said to be one of India’s most influential independent musicians. He is best known as the lead singer and founder of India’s leading rock band Indus Creed, with whom he performed extensively across India and abroad, won an Asia-wide MTV Video Music Award, performed live with Guns ‘N Roses guitarist Slash, shared the stage with Bon Jovi, and played at Peter Gabriel’s WOMAD festival in the UK.
In addition to his illustrious music career, Uday is also a prolific writer and has written for a number of publications in the US and India, including The Village Voice, Time Out New York, Midday, Man’s World, GQ, ForbesLife, Tehelka and Rolling Stone India.
Mhaseve Tetseo: Mhaseve Tetseo could be one of Nagaland’s most versatile musicians around, dabbling from hard rock and jazz to electronic and acoustic folk with equal ease, dedication and passion. The First Naga to complete Trinity Rockschool Grade 8 in the year 2006, he has won numerous accolades for his music.
Mhaseve in addition to being a musician is also a music producer and does mixing and recording for Tetseo Sisters, Purple Fusion, Tuden Jamir and the Rec.urrent- a You Tube music channel based in Nagaland. He is also Producer/Sound Tech/Guitarist for the Tetseo Sisters in addition to playing as a session guitarist for Joshua and the Note Ninjas, The Gear Men Dudes, Rattle and Hum Band and Ronnie.
