DIMAPUR — The
17th edition of Hornbill International Naga Wrestling Championship will be held
on December 6 at Chiechama in Kohima.
A press release informed that the competition will feature
the following categories: 75kg & below, 90kg & below, Hornbill
championship for men and women exhibition match. Forty-five men and 14 women
wrestlers representing eight Naga tribes—Angami, Chakhesang, Zeliang, Lotha,
Sumi, Pochury, Rengma, and Ao—are expected to take part in the championship.
Wild card entry has been awarded to the champion of the 1st
ANCSU Wrestling Meet 2024.
All the wrestlers, referees and match officials have been
asked to report at IG Stadium on December 5, 10 am for the official briefing,
weight measurement and draw of fixture.
Any interested persons (both local and tourist) who wishes
to participate in the Hornbill championship, apart from the eight participating

Reigning Nagaland Wrestling champion Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü and
former Nagaland Wrestling champion VenuzoDawhuo will take part in the
competition.
