Dimapur, April 8 (EMN): A special handloom expo “Hornbill” North Eastern Region Textiles Promotions Scheme (NERTPS) was inaugurated on Thursday by K Hokishe Assumi, director of Industries and Commerce, Nagaland at Urban Haat in Dimapur. The expo will be held from April 7 to the 20th.
The 14-day expo is being organised by the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Nagaland and funded by office of the development commissioner for Handlooms, government of India.
Hikeshe K Zhimomi, production manager from the Directorate of Industries and Commerce Kohima, informed that 30 stalls had been set up for the expo. It was informed that participants were from the Assam, Manipur and Nagaland.
“The main objective of the expo is to let the weavers showcase their products as well as to leverage their economy,” he added. Department officials and officials from the corporations were also present at the inaugural programme.
