KOHIMA — Nagaland Conservatory of Music emerged as the champion of the Nagaland's First Choir Games and won with INR 10 lakh.
Held as part of the ongoing Hornbill Festival, the event witnessed a combination of the choral competition and Friendship Concert featuring various local artiste and choirs at the Capital Cultutal Hall in Kohima on Tuesday.

The first runners-up went to The Cantabile Choir winning an amount of INR 5 Lakh, while the third place was bagged by The Harmonic Voices and won a cash prize of INR 2.5 lakh.
Best uniform was awarded to Celestial Harmony Tseminyu and best conductor title was given to Lipokmar Tzudir of Nagaland Conservatory of Music.

The Nagaland's First Choir Games is a landmark celebration of choral music, culture, and community through friendship concert and competition.
Choirs from across the state showcased their talent, creativity, and passion for choral music.

A total of nine teams were selected from a registration of about 18 choirs from across the state. The finalists performed two songs of their choice at the competition.
The nine finalists included: Frontier Harmony Collective, Tongpu Pur Mokokchung, Department of Music, The Celestial Voices, The Anchored, Celestial Harmony Tseminyu, and the three winners.

NLA Speaker Sharingain Longkumer and Hovithal Sothu, Project director of TaFMA gave away the prizes.
