Kohima Village Youth Organisation organises Hornbill Carnival Parade at Old NST, Kohima.

KOHIMA — The Hornbill Carnival Parade, organised by the Kohima Village Youth Organisation on the theme ‘Unity in rhythm’ was held on Tuesday at Old NST, Kohima, with Reuben Gauci, High Commissioner (Ambassador) of Malta to India as the special guest.
The High Commissioner said that there are a lot of similarities between Malta and Nagaland, especially the love of culture, citing that even in Malta the carnival is very colourful.

Gauci has been in India for the past five years and travelled a lot, but he expressed that he found Nagaland very special.

Medozhazo Rutsa, president of KVYO, said that the event is not only to witness a parade of colours, music and creativity, but to celebrate the spirit of togetherness that defines “our land”.

He stated that the theme reminds the people that even though they come from different backgrounds, speak different language and carry different stories, the hearts can beat in one rhythm when we choose harmony over division.
He also stated that the night parade is always special and that it is a testament to the talent, warmth and hospitality of the people.
